Programme Aim

The purpose of this full time/part time course is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge skill and competence to use a range of skills and tools, under direction and with limited autonomy, in familiar situations. It enables the learner to participate in and contribute to modern society, to pursue a range of employment opportunities or to progress to further education or training. On successful completion of this course the learner will be a able to pursue a range of employment opportunities or progress to further education and training.

Three streams are offered: Office Administrator, Payroll Assistant, Manual and Computerised, Sage Micro Pay, Bookkeeping and Accounts Assistant, Manual and Computerised, Sage Line 50 Software Package.

  • Leaving Certificate or General Learning QQI Level 4
  • English Language requirement of a B2.2 standard (where English is not your first language)
  • QQI Level 4 Basic Computer Skills
  • Satisfactory outcome of Garda Vetting
  • Aged 18 years old (minimum) on entry
  • Work placement hours are mandatory in an office environment

On successful completion of this course graduates can apply for progression from within the Centre onto to the A Certificate in Business (6M4985) or Certificate for Accounting Technicians – 1 year full-time.

In addition students who successfully complete this course may apply to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the QQI Higher Educations Links Scheme or take up employment in administration.

This course is available Full Time  (VTOS) and Part Time (BTEI)

FULL TIME (VTOS Programme): 5 days a week, over 1 year

PART TIME (BTEI Programme): 2 – 3 mornings per week, over 2 years

This course is offered free to learners.

Graduates may be able to secure employment in Office Administration.
