This module will equip learners with the practical skills, knowledge, and competence to create finished garments from design concepts. The module will cover the entire production process, from interpreting a pattern to final finishing techniques

Learners will be able to:

  •  Construct Garments: Assemble clothing items like blouses, skirts, trousers, and dresses from start to finish.
  • Use Tools & Machinery: Safely operate industrial and domestic sewing machines and pressing equipment.
  • Apply Sewing Techniques: Execute various stitching methods, including seam finishes, darts, gathers, pleats, and zips.
  • Interpret Patterns: Use, adjust, and lay pattern pieces for cutting.
  • Garment Finishing: Apply finishing touches such as linings, facings, fasteners, and hem finishes to achieve a professional standard

This course will run every Monday morning from 9.00am – 12.00pm from September 2026 to May 2027
