Your expression of interest application will be directed via email to Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre or The Lifelong Learning Department depending on your selected course.

The Social Welfare information requested above is used by Portarlington Further Education & Training Centre solely to determine your eligibility for either the VTOS scheme or BTEI (Back To Education Initiative) programme . VTOS and BTEI can provide access to additional funding and supports for eligible applicants.
Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre offer a range of further education and higher education and courses. We are able to offer these courses as full time (VTOS) or part time (BTEI) options through further education and at higher education with financial help for the long term unemployed. Please see the list of Further Education and Training Courses currently available.
The Learning Learning department at Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre, in association with The Institute of Public Administration, a recognised college of UCD (IPA/UCD), Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI), University College Cork (UCC) and IPASS offer you a suite of part-time graduate, undergarduate and post graduate programmes. Together with our education partners, we provide a range of excellent part-time courses for students in the wider Leinster area, Whether you choose to study for a certificate, a diploma or a degree course, we are certain that you will find that the long term personal and financial payback will far exceed the initial cost of the course investment. What is Community Education? It is about creating opportunities for people to identify their learning needs and learn in their own community. A Community Education programme aims to Build community participation, Address social isolation, Engage vulnerable adults, Develop active citizenship and Address educational needs. Our ethos is to promote social inclusion for all groups and engage specifically with socially disadvantaged adults. Programme Duration Usually 6 to 8 weeks with a minimum of 10 people.
